They Are One wants homeless children and families in need on the Monterey Peninsula to keep warm and dry throughout the winter season. Chalè , means warmth in creole, the native language of Haiti where the organization also supports orphans and vulnerable children.
TAO:local is looking to our community for donations of winter jackets of all sizes, blankets and umbrellas. The goal is to provide 100 families with these winter essentials and notes of encouragement.
Donation barrels are located at Star Market at 1275 Main Street Salinas, The Bagel Corner at 818 Park Row and Victory Toyota at 5 Heitzinger Plaza in Seaside. The Chalè Campaign will run through the end of November. Cash donations can be made through PayPal at firstname.lastname@example.org
The first priority is to build a long term relationship with the organizations, staff and families that TAO supports. The Chalè Campaign will be accomplished through a partnership with the Salinas City Elementary School District's Family Resource Center, Dorothy's Place, Shelter Outreach Plus and more.
The mission of They Are One is to love vulnerable kids by meeting their practical needs, lending resources and gifts, and connecting them with people in the local community.
